Our Financial Planning Process

1.  Initial Conference

Our no-cost initial conference is designed to accomplish several goals including:

  • Understanding your financial concerns, questions, goals, and objectives.
  • Understanding your present financial position.
  • Enabling you to interview us and determine if you will be comfortable working with us—as this is a critical element of a successful ongoing relationship.
  • Providing you with an accurate estimate of the cost of the services you are requesting.
  • Enabling us to determine if we feel we can create value for you.

2.  Plan Development

Once we have an understanding of your financial objectives, we then prepare a written series of detailed, individually tailored, recommendations.

The plan itself is a concise illustration of your present and projected financial position.  Reports may include some or all of the following depending on the services requested:

  • Balance Sheet & Balance Sheet Schedules
  • Cash Flow Analysis
  • Tax Projections
  • Long-Term Financial Security Projections
  • Estate Settlement Summary
  • Insurance Needs Analysis
  • Asset Allocation & Investment Change Summary
  • Portfolio Analysis / Investment Income Analysis

It is not the reports themselves that are important, but the illustration of your financial position, which allows for significant “what-if” solutions to be illustrated and communicated.

3.  Plan Presentation Conference

At this conference we walk you through the plan to the point where you understand it enough to take it home, peruse it, and develop a list of questions for the Plan Implementation Conference.

4.  Plan Implementation Conference

This conference is designed to answer all of your questions, assist you in making decisions, and allow us to begin to develop a Task List.

5.  Task List Development

Each plan action step is listed in the Task List with detailed instructions on implementation, goal dates for completion, and the person who will take the action.

6.  Future Services

If desired, clients may elect to begin an Annual Retainer relationship with Mallard Advisors, LLC.
